Shinmai Maou Translation

 

The first PV for the upcoming OVA is out. The animation looks great. It looks like they actually have a budget this time when the animation is compared with season 1 and Burst. The anime original direction that this seems to be going in is a bit disappointing. I’m glad Basara we’re getting a “swagged out” version of Basara complete with his winter coat from volumes 8-10. I’m curious as to how they are going to handle Chisato as well as the Nonaka’s being summoned back to the Village. Hopefully we get a second PV that will gives us an idea on what to expect with the service scenes during comiket.

 

Story Synopsis:

After the struggle for supremacy involving the entire demon world settled down, Basara and the girls have regained their peaceful everyday life. One day that starts with Mio’s “Full of Wrong Bathroom Soap” play, they go to an indoor pool on Maria’s recommendation. However, Mio activates her curse of aphrodisiac by Basara’s accidental action! For Mio who is writhing painfully, Basara decides to take action in the pool…!? Meanwhile, Yuki and Kurumi receive an order from the hero village that is making a threatening move. Basara and the girls’ exciting vacation begins in a short holiday!

Based on the synopsis I’m under the impression that we’re going to be getting anime original content mixed in with a liberal adaption of content and themes from novels 8,9, and potentially 10.

 

In other news Nomi should be finished with part 2 of the volume 11 prologue possibly tonight or tomorrow. Translations for part 3 should start by Sunday.

Traditionally Nomi has tried to push out large translation updates every week. She is now going to be switching to smaller daily updates. Translating smaller amounts of text daily not only gives crowdfund contributors daily updates, but it also ensures that the quality of the translation remains consistent throughout.

The translation of the volume 11 prologue is progressing, and I’m still waiting for On to catch up with reading the series through volume 7 before he begins working on finishing up the first two chapters of volume 8.

Sorry I have been MIA lately. I will be doing some updates on the site at some point this weekend. It will probably include at least part of the volume 11 summary. There’s still some parts that need to be fleshed out a bit before I put it on the site in its entirety. Nomi also has her N1 exam this Saturday. I personally wish her the best of luck with that. Sorry it’s been a little while. I added the chapter titles for volume 11 to the site. Crowdfund donors I’ve also sent out the link to the working draft of the volume 11 summary. It’s not fully completed yet. There’s a few spots that are going to be filled with additional information and if you have any questions regarding specific places in volume 11 feel free to reach out. The remaining parts of the volume 9 prologue should be finished by Friday, and starting next week Nomi will begin translating the volume 11 prologue.

For everyone else I’ll try to have the volume 11 summary posted on the site by Wednesday of next week.

 

So my physical copy of volume 11 arrived a few days ago with the Toranoana short story. People that were expecting vampire sex based upon the 2ch rumors will be disappointed. All the girls are still virgins. So this would set the story somewhere before the events of volume 9. If you’re into Maria being a troll this SS is classic Maria. There’s no illustrations outside of the fun chibi’s making an appearance again.

Volume 11 concluded the main story for Shinmai. However we can look forward to volume 12 which is going to be a collection of side stories. Based upon the preview we’re going to get a certain school nurse’s omitted sex scene from volume 11 as well as a brief look into the future from where volume 11 ends with Celis. ( a week to be exact)

Volume 11 has been out for several hours now. Those of you that wish to show your support for the series should purchase the raws.

Work on the volume 11 summary is going to start as soon as volume 11 downloads to my Bookwalker account. As I said before, Crowdfund contributors will be linked into the document and will be able to see updates in real time. It should take about a week before the entire volume is summarized and then I’ll be posting it for everyone else.

It’s not quiet an S3, but I’ll take a 60 min OVA with higher production values. Based off the description there’s going to be some anime original content. At some point, the plot might line up with volume 9 since Yuki and Kurumi get summoned by the Village. Maybe the volume 11 Afterword will shed more light on this project. Most likely we’ll get a PV during winter Comiket.

Crowdfund contributors there should be an update to the “LN Translations” folder by the end of this week. Nomi is finishing up the remaining parts of the volume 9 prologue (parts 1-4).  Good news about chapter 1 and the remaining parts of chapter 2 is that they are much shorter and not as dense as chapter 3 or 4.

As soon as volume 11 releases on Bookwalker, Nomi is going to begin working on the summary. Most likely it’s going to take her a week to read and summarize everything. Crowdfund contributors will be able to see the updates in real time since you’ll have access to the google doc.

Once the volume 11 summary is completed, Nomi will begin translating the lewd/sex scenes because those are always of interest. So that actual translation of the remainder of volume 9 is going to be put on hold at least until the end of the month of November.

I also purchased the Toranoana version of volume 11 which comes with the 8 page booklet through DoujinRepublic. I’m not sure when Toranoana will be sending it to them though. The good news is that I have priority shipping and should have it in my procession 3-10 days after it ships. Based off of past experience with DoujinRepublic I should have it mid November.

I’m also going to make an honest attempt to make myself more readily available on my discord and elsewhere in order to answer questions or concerns. Email is still the best way to reach me since I basically live in my email.
