Uesu’s new novel “Overdone Devil Exterminator” released last week. I’ve read about 75% of the novel, but haven’t been able to finish it yet due to work. It’s taken the best of Shinmai and Rogue Hero, and put them into one series. So far I’m enjoying Sirou (the mc) he’s like a hybrid of Basara and Akatsuki which is works out well. If you are fans of Basara or Akatsuki you’ll enjoy Sirou. I don’t have much of an opinion of Yui yet, and I’m hoping that changes when I finish the novel. Mika is the most interesting character so far, because of how closely she resembles a certain “all too beautiful school nurse/goddess”. Maybe at some point when I get some free time, I’ll write a summary for the volume.

Until then some of you might want to follow the manga. It releases every month and so far it’s shaping up to be a 1:1 adaptation of the LN. In terms of pacing, it looks like each month is going to cover a chapter of the LN. This month covered the prologue. The art is kinda rough, but it does a better job of capturing the characters mannerisms and personality than Gohands art at least for me.

In order to view the manga, you have to make a niconico account. In the event you can’t make a niconico account, you can view it on any manga aggregator. However the really screwed up the title.

I posted the sample translation for the volume 10 prologue a couple of days ago. Nomi should be sending me chapter 1 of volume 10 at some point today.

In unrelated news, Uesu’s new novel Overdone Devil Exterminator’s Seven Deadly Sins Game (New Game) 1 “The Seven Deadly Sins Master Ruthlessly Shatters Taboos” releases on the 2nd of October. I’ll be checking this novel out, because I generally enjoy Uesu’s writing style. Hopefully we get some information on the final Shinmai volume though.

Volumes 1-3 are available digitally on Bookwalker. Volumes 4 and 5 should be released later this year or early next year. If you enjoy the Arashi manga then you should pick up the licensed version. In other news, Tuesday will be a big day since Nomi and Jhunius will be sending me the finished volume 10 prologue and chapter 1.

Nomi finished translating the first chapter of volume 12 earlier today. She’ll be doing some minor edits over the next few days before starting work on chapter 2. One more really long chapter to go before volume 12 is finished.  In other news, volume 10 chapter 1 should be finished this weekend.

Just a quick heads up. The translation for the remainder of volume 10 starts today. Nomi already finished the epilogue last year and will be working on the prologue through chapter 3. If everything goes according to plan. The translation should be finished by October at the latest.

I hope all is well. I  I’ll start off by thanking our new translator/editor JhiniusOperandi for editing chapter 3 of volume 8. It’s been a blast working with you so far and you’re a great addition to the team.

Crowdfund donors I’m going to be doing something different with parts 7-9 of volume 12 chapter 1. Since it’s all one scene I’m just going to leave it as a single document, therefore people don’t have to switch between the different parts as Basara and Chisato have sex. Once chapter 1 of volume 12 is complete, Nomi is just going to go straight to work on chapter 2.

Hey everyone,

Nomi is still grinding out volume 12 chapter 1. She just completed part 5. Those of you that read the daily updates. I hope you’ve enjoyed all of the Basara x Chisato relationship development, because it’s good build up for what’s coming with the next few parts. Nomi will be starting part 6 tomorrow (bondage play). Chisato gets “completely wrecked” from here on out. So if you’re a male and don’t want to run the risk of blueballing yourself everyday, don’t read the updates until the vow is finished in part 9.

I’ll also be updating the sample translations with some of the road trip to the Village. Those of you that watched Departures, this pretty much picks up where Departures ended. So if you haven’t got into the novel yet, now’s a good time.

Shinmai was one of the more successful titles for IMS outside of Haifuri and DAL. It’s terrible news for people that enjoy shameless ecchi series that IMS is gone. The titles they worked on weren’t the greatest in terms of animation quality, but the series that they animated almost always had tons of heart. I feel bad for the people that haven’t been paid, and hope that they eventually get what’s owed to them.

An S3 for Shinmai has always been a high hurdle due to the H-content being directly tied to the plot of the remaining novels. Thankfully IMS isn’t part of the production committee for Shinmai. In the event the production committee wants to continue the anime, they could just move it to a different studio.

*Update*

I spoke with Yoshihiro Watanabe last night, and he said that there won’t be another season of Shinmai from IMS, but he believes that it’s possible if Shinmai gets moved to another studio. So those that are still hoping for an S3, hope is still alive.

Funimation is releasing the english dub for Burst on the 21st. I’m personally not the biggest fan of the english dub for Shinmai (Shiba doesn’t sound anything like his character looks, and Kurumi sounds like a dude instead of a girl). However I’m excited for the BD specials since Maria’s commentary over the lewd scenes were pretty funny. I’m personally looking forward to Maria and Mio talking about Chisato’s scene from Burst. Everyone that is able, should support this release, and maybe if it’s successful we’ll get an official sub/dub of Departures.

I’ve been away on vacation for the past two weeks, but will most likely be making site updates this weekend.
