It’s still October 31st where I’m at so happy halloween to those that partake in festivities. For this month, I went with The Testament of White Day which will explain the origins of “Cat bitch Mio” (Uesu’s words not mine) and Toujou Family Goes to the Amusement Park for those of you who may have wanted some fanservice (Mio x Basara solo scene). There’s illustrations that accompany those chapters. I will be adding them sometime this weekend. I just have to do something with EXIII for Nomi first.
For those of you the follow Ookuma on twitter and like/retweet and watch his streams please continue to do so. It plays a factor into how we get nice things like this Mio and Chisato illustration. Those of you that also buy items off of his amazon wishlist (which is updated periodically) keep it up.
Sorry I’ve been really busy all September, Therefore I’ll be doing two chapters this month. In the mean time enjoy this Nanao illustration Ookuma did for a certain Nanao fan. Celis, Zest, Yuki, Kurumi, and Maria are still in need of ring illustrations.
Takashi is one of Basara’s important childhood friends, and according to Uesu he’s the true tsundere of the series. This story shows a bit of the softer side of Takashi that doesn’t really come across between the anime, manga, and early volumes of the LN’s. It leads directly into volume 9 and shows Takashi’s cooking skills in action. It would be fun to one day see a cooking competition between Chisato, Maria, Yuki, Zest, and Takashi.
This is predominately aimed at the folks that don’t have or follow Ookuma on twitter, but he has an amazon wishlist. I know a bunch of folks have done their part to support the series with buying the BD’s, manga, LN, and other merchandise. However consider purchasing something off his amazon wishlist. Especially if you want to extend your thanks beyond likes, retweets, and comments. It would be nice to see the fandom give back to one of the dudes that has given us so much over the years.
I had a plan for this month, but then I got sick (i’m one of those people that never get sick), which has resulted in going with Why I Can’t Be Honest With You . Anyways I really like this chapter, because it focuses on two characters that don’t really get all that much focus. Rikka turning into a bumbling idiot because of Basara is funny. I’m personally not the biggest Nanao fan (vampire fangs just aren’t my thing) however, I like the way she was written in this particular scene. The gender pronouns sometimes switch between he and she on purpose. At this point, Nanao was still conflicted about how she self identified, as well as her feelings for Basara.
Hopefully Afeuria blesses me with a speedy recovery, because I hate being sick.
I’m a big NBA fan and won’t be posting an update until Kawhi Leonard makes his decision on free agency. Hopefully he makes the right choice, because I’m not sure what i’m going to do if he doesn’t lol.
In Shinmai related news,
Although we’re way past the original “early 2019” (by Uesu’s own words in the Sneaker) and the “Spring 2019” (that was advertised in Overdone volume 1), we do have an update on the status of volume 13. Ookuma said back on the 16th of June that it’s coming soon. So the wait continues.
Like I said, I would do an update after the game. This was a toss up between The Hero and the Demon Lordor more Basara and Lars shenanigans which also includes what I would argue is the origins of “Cat Bitch Mio” (which can be seen in the volume 12 illustrations). Anyways I decided to go with the Hero and Demon Lord simply because it includes a majority of the characters that most people enjoy. Basara being in a situation where he feels screwed is fun, especially since he’s the dude that’s always overanalyzing and thinking about the beyond of the beyond of most situations.
I don’t know but i’ve really been feeling Yuki lately. It’s most likely because Yoshi has been posting a bunch of draft illustrations of Yuki. It’s really nice seeing Yuki totally in her element and being the one to help both Basara and Mio. Chisato’s idea of “helping” the situation was great and Maria would have been proud.
Totally off topic but to those of you that follow the NBA, we finally have ourselves a series.
I decided to hold back on the the prologue for volume 11 because I still haven’t decided how I’m going to deal with the debatably pedo shit in Maria’s vow that clearly violates the “No pedo shit” in my host’s ToS .I’m debating between full omission or just editing it to make it worth within the ToS. Anyway’s Volume 11 chapter 1 is all hands on deck. The ensemble cast comes together to put in some work. Uesu tried his best to work in the majority of the most memorable characters and give everybody a moment to shine. This is something he carries over into the fights in Overdone. Some of the things that happen in this chapter heavily influence the ways in which some of the characters act and the decisions they make in volume 12.
It’s been a pretty good week for Uesu with the release of Volume 2 of the Overdone light novel and the first tank for the manga. I still haven’t finished reading volume 1 of the LN, but did take a look at Mika’s scene. The parallels with Shinmai continue seeing as the scene is very similar to Basara and Chisato’s scene in her apartment from Shinmai volume 6. The difference with Overdone is that there’s 7 year old girls watching from outside the window courtesy of Sirou.
Volume 1 or at least what i’ve read of it, feels like a glorified introduction to the world and characters. So i’m excited things are finally starting to really get interesting with this volume. Unfortunately there was no news of Shinmai volume 13 in the afterword. I’ll have word on whether or not he physical version might have come with an advertisement at some point tomorrow morning, when a friend of mine gets back to me. I’m really happy Uesu seems to be in a writing mood again. Overdone volume 2 longer than Shinmai volume 11 by about 20 pages. Seriously hoping he keeps the same energy with the new content in Shinmai volume 13.
I bought the first tank for Overdone the other day. Some people might be turned off by the art, but it’s the manga artist’s first series. In my opinion, the art has gotten much better recently and should continue to get better over the course of the series. I really enjoy the emotion the manga artist adds to the characters through their facial expressions. It’s something you don’t really get with Gohands art. For anyone that follows the manga, the tank ends with the chapter where Sirou and Renya blow up the truck. In terms of bonus, Uesu wrote an SS for the manga that sheds a bit more light on Yui. Uesu seems to like girls with G cup tits seeing as she’s a G cup like Mio in early Shinmai. Next volume is going to be better automatically since Mika makes her debut.
If you like Uesu you should support him and purchase either the light novel or manga from amazon, bookwalker, or whatever platform you prefer.
I went with posting some SWEET! this month instead of volume 11, because I’m still looking into the terms of service with my host. Unlike with the first site (which was free), I spent really good money on this website to keep it going for years and years to come. Although explicit content is allowed with my host, I’m looking into things, because Maria’s vow scene most likely falls into the grey area. Most author’s pussyfoot when it comes to loli service, but Uesu goes in the opposite direction with volume 11 and delivers for loli fans. There’s a part that’s totally Insert “FBI, loli police, or pedo pear” memes. So I’m making sure everything is good before posting.
